Romantic and stylish Paris engagement photo session at the Louvre
This was a romantic and stylish Paris engagement photo session at the Louvre, with a sprinkle of the Tuileries Gardens and a café stop thrown in for good measure.
Joe, from Buffalo, New York, found me on Instagram. Instagram is one of my favorite platforms, perfect to show off the beautiful and memorable photo sessions of people in love who come to Paris. He explained to me that he was coming to Paris and wanted to propose to his love, Kimberly. We discussed his requirements for his surprise proposal, he wanted to be near the Eiffel Tower. We settled on one of the best places for a Paris surprise proposal, right next to the river. You can read about Joe and Kimberly’s surprise proposal here.
Joe also wanted to book an engagement photo session for the next day. There is no more scenic or romantic city to have a Paris engagement photo session than in Paris, I’m convinced of it. You may think I’m biased, well she LIVES in Paris, of course she is partial to Paris. Maybe, a little, but I’ve been all over Europe, 56 countries and counting, and I still feel overall Paris is the most romantic city in the world. Yes, it’s over-hyped in the media, and sometimes people come to Paris and are disappointed. What? There’s trash? Graffiti? The metro smells like urine? That’s right, all the negative things you’ve read about Paris are probably true. There is trash, there is graffiti (at least in my neighborhood) and yes, the metro can smell like urine. Why? Because it’s a city and like most cities, some people choose to use the metro as a toilet, I don’t know why, they just do.
That said, no where else has the bountiful monuments, royal and grand palaces, stunningly romantic bridges and colorful gardens (of course they’re not colorful in winter). Paris has the very best riverside of any city. Walking along the banks of the Seine on the old cobblestones, baguette in hand (and some delicious cheese too) is one of life’s pleasures. I’m always happiest next to the river, and I know many of you will be too!
For Joe and Kimberly’s Paris engagement photo session, Joe wanted to be photographed near the Louvre, and the Tuileries Gardens. Blessed with beautiful natural morning light, we took advantage of it and created some romantic and special engagement photos for Joe and Kimberly. Kimberly wore a pretty and classic romantic black dress and Joe, being ever-so-stylish himself. This man knows how to wear a sport jacket, and wear it well. Together, as you can see, they’re a dynamic duo, almost fresh off the pages of a magazine.
Late summer light in the Tuileries Gardens, perfect for photos
The Tuileries Gardens is one of my favorite places to photograph engaged couples. The flowers in September are at their peak, and the late summer light makes everything look dreamy. I captured Joe and Kimberly in the gardens, so in love and joyful. Then, we crossed the street to the world famous Louvre Museum. The architecture of this former palace, and now the world’s most visited museum, is just incredible and looks classy and sophisticated all year long. I enjoyed exploring and showing Joe and Kimberly some of my favorite corners of this famous museum.
Finally, it was time for a rest, so we went across the street to a very famous café called Le Nemours. It’s in such a great spot, with great people watching too. Before we sat down though, I took this lovely couple to the Palais Royal, for some fun photos before we finished for the morning. Then, Joe and Kimberly put their feet up and relaxed with a croissant and coffee, while Kimberly showed off her gorgeous engagement ring!
I could not have asked for two lovelier clients, so in love, so friendly and warm, and new friends. My best wishes to you Joe and Kimberly, for a life filled with love and happiness, and I hope to see you again!
