Paris & France Wedding Photographer

You’re getting married in France! Congratulations, your wedding day will be so incredibly special!

I can’t wait to get to know you, learn about your wedding day (and the dress, I love wedding dresses!) and all the other awesome details!

But first let me introduce myself (because that’s the polite thing to do).

About Me

I’m Karina, an American professional wedding photographer living in Paris.

I love people and I love photographing people on one of the most beautiful days of their lives.

My goal is to create an amazing wedding photography experience for you, from the first day we speak,

until the day I happily deliver your beautiful wedding photos and even after!

I’m super friendly, collaborative, professional, and fun and incredibly passionate about my work.

I get choked up at weddings. I may cry when you say your vows, but it won’t ruin the pictures! 🙂

The Important Part — You!

I want to learn about YOU about you as people, what you love, what you hate, and what you dream of.

I love to work with passionate, fun couples, who are friendly and dynamic, and who have a bit of a sense of adventure.

That doesn’t mean jumping out of planes, but visiting new places (but that’s cool if you do!), and having new experiences.

Wedding Photography Styles

As you look around the Internet, you’ll see all styles of wedding photography.

Some wedding photography is “dark and moody”. Some is “light and airy”.

I fall in between, my style is a hybrid of the two. I capture colorful wedding photography that’s not too dark, not too light,

but just right, vibrant colors that are true to life with just a bit of lightness to capture the romance of your wedding.

Most couples love working with me who are looking for a combination of traditional posed wedding photography, especially of their family and friends,

and more photojournalistic style, to capture the laughter, joy and emotions of you and your guests on this very special day.

No Stress, No Worry!

Weddings can be stressful, especially in a foreign country. Sometimes it’s because of communication issues.

No worries there, I speak fluent English and I speak French too, and I can get around en español tambien.

I’m organized, I have a plan, and I’ll capture all of the blissful moments of your wedding day, authentically,

with emotion, and with some French elegance too!

Wedding Packages

I designed a wedding package below that’s completely customizable. I can’t wait to speak with you!

Absolute Joy

Karina is an absolute joy to work with and her suggestions not only helped us capture stunning photos but were invaluable to helping us plan our vow exchange. Her knowledge of Paris locations for good photos is unparalleled and despite the oppressive heat wave she made us look amazing. I would 100% recommend her to anyone who wants to capture their special moments in Paris.

If you have a question that is not covered then please get in touch, I am happy to answer any questions you have.

Yes! I photograph intimate wedding ceremonies in Paris and throughout France as well as Greece and Italy. I also photograph Parisian wedding elopements, which are typically shorter ceremonies often accompanied with a photo session.

A wedding is usually a bit more traditional, and fits the following criteria:

  • Ceremony in a church or place of worship
  • Ceremony at a hotel or event center, such at the Ritz Hotel, Shangri-La or Hotel Marignan in Paris
  • Ceremony in a chateau in Paris or throughout France
  • Has between 10-50 guests or more
  • Has a traditional ceremony followed by aperitif hour and dinner and sometimes a dance reception
  • Has a traditional ceremony followed by a lunch
  • Includes portraits of the couple and their family at the place of worship, or in Paris or near the event location, if in another part of France
  • Includes photography coverage of up to 10 hours

An elopement is usually a very small and short ceremony with the couple themselves. It usually fits the following criteria:

  • An elopement is usually a short ceremony of 20 minutes or less with an officiant/celebrant and the couple.
  • If there are guests, it’s usually just 2-3.
  • The couple desires to have an intimate ceremony to exchange vows, often with a view of the Eiffel Tower from a garden or terrace, such as those found in hotels such as the Shangri-La or Hotel Marignan in Paris.
  • The couple desires portraits of the elopement ceremony and portraits around Paris.
  • Includes photography coverage of up to 3 hours.

I only accept so many weddings and elopements each year, so that I can give my very best, however, I still do have some availability for 2020.

In general, Paris and France, in general, are very popular spots, so its best to reserve as far in advance as possible.

If you’re visiting France from another country such as the United States, ceremonies in France are not legal without specific marriage requirements, which often require you to be resident in the country for a period of time.

Therefore, most couples have a legal ceremony in their country, such as at the city hall, and the ceremony in France is symbolic, and very meaningful.

A lot of people classify my style as “light & airy”, versus the very popular “dark & moody”.  The truth is, I’m neither.

Nor can I be defined as a fine art photographer, or a documentary photographer. What am I then?

The truth is, my style is a fusion of color and emotion. I incorporate vibrant color, enough brightness to show the happiness of a wedding day, but not to blow out highlights (I like to see the sky!). I love aspects of documentary and aspects of fine art. I fuse them together to tell a beautiful story of how a wedding day unfolded.

If we’re in a gorgeous spot, like a beach, a mountain, a chateau, or in Paris with the magnificent monuments, I’m also incorporating nature or architectural elements that set the stage for your wedding story.

Have you been photographing weddings a long time?

No, actually! I began my career as a videographer, and documentary filmmaker and writer. Then, I transitioned to landscapes, travel and architectural photography. In fact, you can see my prints here on Etsy

I found my love for portraiture of people more recently, about four years’ ago, starting with a very special surprise proposal. Now, I’ve photographed hundreds of surprise proposals, couples, vow renewals, elopements, and have dipped my toe into weddings.

Why “dip my toe”? As an American, and being used to traditional American weddings, the thought of a big 200-500 person wedding just intimidated me. It seemed a bit scary, to be honest.

But the beauty of weddings in France and Paris are that they are usually more intimate, less stressful, and a lot more fun to photograph. I love them! I started photographing weddings in France with my first wedding for a French couple at the city hall.

That’s now expanded into weddings at French chateaux, Paris wedding venues at gorgeous hotels and churches (like La Madeleine Church) and destination weddings in Mexico and the United States.

I also photograph intimate elopements in Paris and elsewhere. Weddings are fun and fresh to me, an opportunity to serve amazing couples and provide a wonderful experience.

Do you provide a second shooter?

Some photographers provide an additional photographer for your wedding day (a second shooter), and that can be a great addition. Most weddings I photograph are smaller, and don’t require a second photographer. However, if you’d like to have an additional photographer at your wedding, I can definitely help with that.

Absolutely, we’ll discuss your big day, and the kind of photography coverage you would like.

A 50% non-refundable retainer is requested to reserve your date along with a signed contract.

Your non-refundable retainer ensures that your wedding date is reserved, and I accept no bookings after it is received.

The retainer may be paid by credit card or bank wire transfer. I do not accept cash payments.

The balance will be due 30 days before your event and may be paid by credit card or bank wire transfer (I do not accept cash payments).

You can also opt to have installment payments up until the time your balance is due.

For example, if your wedding is on July 1:

  • 50% non-refundable retainer to reserve your date
  • 50% balance due June 1
  • Smaller installment payments accepted up until June 1
