Eiffel Tower, Paris Engagement

Paris spring engagement photo session with a very fun couple

This was just a wonderful engagement photo session with a dynamic couple from the United States, and we went all around Paris. Jenn and Aaron are from the United States, and incredibly kind and charming. I absolutely loved Jenn's dress, a deep blue that was perfect in nearly every image. I'm a photographer that loves color, and Jenn's dress delivered!

I also loved Aaron's shirt, it went perfectly with Jenn's dress and they made a stunning couple.

Eiffel Tower to Champs Elyseés

This is the first and only engagement session I've done where I had a couple request photos on the Champs Elysées and with the Arc de Triomphe. In fact, this was a tour of Paris, we started at the Trocadero area of the Eiffel Tower, walked over to the charming Avenue Camoens, and then to Bir Hakeim bridge. The sun was out in full force, which was nice on one hand, but can make a person squinty, which is why we always try to complete our Paris engagement sessions before the sun is too high in summer.

Naturally, as we were on the Champs Elysées, we had to stop by the famous Ladurée macaron shop for some sugary treats. There are a lot of Ladurée shops in Paris, but the one on the Champs Elysées is my favorite. Not only do they have an amazing selection of tasty and colorful macarons, but the building is gorgeous.

Macarons have become pretty popular around the world now, but just what are these little cookies?

According to Wikipedia:

macaron or French macaroon is a sweet meringue-based confection made with egg whiteicing sugargranulated sugaralmond powder or ground almond, and food coloring. There is some variation in whether the term macaron or macaroon is used, and the related coconut macaroon is often confused with the macaron. In English, some bakers have adopted the French spelling of macaron for the meringue-based item to distinguish the two.

You may also wonder where you can find the best macarons in Paris. Well, I say Ladurée, but you may want to read this article from the NY TimesIt was authored by Lindsey Tramuta, She is from Philadephia but lives in Paris and has a very popular blog called Lost in Cheeseland that you should definitely check out.

Not only did Jenn and Aaron munch on the macarons on the Champs Elysées, but we took them out again at the beautiful and green Tuileries Gardens. It was quite a day and I had so much fun with this couple, great conversation and discovering the city together!
