Magical Monday morning photo session at the Eiffel Tower

Monday mornings used to not be any fun. The thought of having to go back to sit in the cubicle for another five days until I could have my freedom again depressed me. No doubt, there are people who don’t mind being in an office and in a cubicle, and it worked for me for some time, but then, I need to be free. As a Paris portrait photographer, I’m thrilled to be out in the fresh air, photographing amazing people and with a view of the Eiffel Tower. I mean, how could it get any better?

For this Monday morning, I had the pleasure to meet and photograph Rachel and Brandon, a gorgeous couple from Canada. They looked so fresh and sharp for an early morning photos session, as we met at 7:00 am. The weather wasn’t the best, even in May the sky couldn’t figure out if it wanted to be sunny, or rain, and we had a bit of both, which made things quite interesting. As someone who loves dresses, the first thing I noticed is Rachel’s dress. It was effortlessly feminine and romantic and the color was just perfect for Paris and for a day like this. I’m a photographer really into colors, and both she and Brandon had great color in their outfits and looked amazing with the background of the Eiffel Tower.

I was really excited to not only share the Trocadero area of the Eiffel Tower with them, but some really pretty spots nearby with interesting views of the famous monument.

Trocadero was very busy, even early in the morning, with many people doing photos, including a few brides and grooms. I was thrilled to see the beautiful fountains on again, a harbinger of summer to be sure. The fountains at Trocadero are usually on for just two short months in the summer, and they are really pretty and add even more layers to an already interesting photo location.

The Eiffel Tower beautiful view circuit

After we completed the Trocadero portion of our photo session, I went to a spot I don’t often go to, but that’s nearby, called Avenue Camoens. Because it was cloudy, it was perfect because there was no sun flare and that meant we could create dreamy, romantic photos with a peek-a-boo view of the Eiffel Tower. I just love this area.

We had fun chatting and walking next to the bridge of Bir Hakeim, the second prettiest bridge in Paris (I think Pont Alexandre is the prettiest). Sometimes it’s challenging to photograph here due to the bike and foot traffic, not to mention the cars, but this morning wasn’t too bad at all and I loved the drama of the skies along with the bridge. You can really get some dramatic Eiffel Tower views from here.

To complete our Eiffel Tower route, we walked along the river. Just as we were doing so, the sun was partially out but it was misting, and a very odd sight. You couldn’t feel the rain so much but you could see it. I captured a very beautiful image with this partial rain with a little bit of sun flare, and it was just magic. This is what I love so much about Paris, there are little bits of magic everywhere.

Once at the river, I couldn’t not ask Brandon to lift Rachel. She has gorgeous legs, which I surmised were due to her being active or a dancer, and she told me she had been a dancer. I can always spot the dancers because they’re very elegant with their foot and leg movements.

Don’t worry if you’re not a dancer and elegant with your leg movements, I’m not either! But that’s what my job is, to capture those beautiful, elegant couples moments with style and grace.

I was really sad to say goodbye to this wonderful duo from Canada, they sure got my week off to a great start and are a big part of why I don’t hate Mondays anymore!

Thank you Rachel and Brandon for choosing me to capture your Paris moments!
