Colorful autumn couples love photo session in Luxembourg Gardens
Colorful early autumn couples love photo session in Luxembourg Gardens
I call this the autumn couples love photo session! Autumn is one of the absolute best times to visit Paris. Autumn in Paris is splendid, but it doesn’t last so long, so you have to enjoy it when you can. Imagine yourself surrounded by beautiful falling leaves in a kaleidoscope of colors. That’s just what Megan and Justin experienced in their photo session, a taste of fall in Paris.
Megan and Justin are a young and beautiful couple in love from Chicago. They had a natural and easygoing elegance about them that was so fun to capture. Megan told me they’d like to have their Paris photo session at both the Eiffel Tower and another pretty spot in Paris. After a bit of discussion, we decided on the Luxembourg Gardens for our second hour.
As is sometimes the case in the autumn and winter in Paris, the Eiffel Tower can unfortunately be shrouded in fog. That was the case on this day, however, I like to look at the bright side and feel like a foggy Eiffel Tower also makes the Eiffel Tower look a bit more mystical, a bit more mysterious and romantic. Luckily, Megan and Justin agreed and were easy going about the fog. We began our photo session at Trocadero and then moved nearby to the wonderful Bir Hakeim bridge. I was not only able to photograph them with the Eiffel Tower (what we could see of it), but also the beautiful ironwork of the Bir Hakeim bridge.
From the Eiffel Tower to the Luxembourg Gardens
After the Eiffel Tower, we went by taxi to the amazing Luxembourg Gardens, my favorite gardens in Paris. Here’s a bit of information about the Luxembourg Gardens:
Situated on the border between Saint-Germain-des-Prés and the Latin Quarter, the Luxembourg Gardens, inspired by the Boboli Gardens in Florence, were created upon the initiative of Queen Marie de Medici in 1612. The gardens, which cover 25 hectares of land, are split into French gardens and English gardens. Between the two, lies a geometric forest and a large pond. There is also an orchard with a variety of old and forgotten apples, an apiary for you to learn about bee-keeping and greenhouses with a collection of breathtaking orchids and a rose garden. The garden has 106 statues spread throughout the park, the monumental Medici fountain, the Orangerie and the Pavillon Davioud. There are many activities and facilities for children such as puppets, rides and slides. Adults, whether they are Parisians or tourists, can play chess, tennis, and bridge or remote control boats. The cultural programme is characterized by free photography exhibitions on the garden railings and by concerts in the bandstand
So you can see, the Luxembourg Gardens are fit for a king and queen and you!
I loved the beautiful canopies of trees, all in their rich autumn hues. But the geraniums in pots were still holding on to their joyous pinks as well. It was really beautiful! In addition to photographing Megan and Justin around the garden, we also stopped for several beautiful photo spots outside the garden, including a fun sit on the staircase featured in the movie Midnight in Paris.
Autumn in Paris is splendid, but it doesn’t last long, so you have to enjoy it when you can. I was so fortunate to do just that with my lovely clients from Chicago recently.
I am so indebted to this fun and beautiful couple, visiting Paris for the first time. I do hope they come back to visit again very soon!
